Its a effective sunscreen .it can be a primer. I mixed it with oil and put it on my face, it texture not oily and it can tune a little bit my skin tone ! No doubt its good product !
After trying countless sunscreens over the years, at best breaking out horrendously and at worst getting a chemical burn, I have finally found the PERFECT sunscreen. No joke. When I first applied Farizad's Veil, it was like the sky opened up, birds sang, and a great hush fell upon the earth (definitely exaggerating, but OMG this stuff is too good!). I mix a bit in with rose hip seed oil, and it dries BEAUTIFULLY, every time. No acne, no greasiness, just an amazing daily sunscreen. There's certainly a white cast, but fortunately I have super pale skin, so it acts almost as a color correcting cream on me. My concealer is in the bin. The only downside I could possibly think of is that it makes my teeth look a bit yellow in comparison, haha. Seriously, I don't think I've ever been happier with a product.
Farizad's Veil along with Ruby Facial Oil has upped my sun protection game to a whole new level. Minimally processed, non-nano, uncoated zinc oxide and powdered aloe leaves make up the majority of this powder sunscreen. Like many others, I was sceptical of whether this would protect me from the harsh (Mumbai) sun, not to mention the high levels of air pollution. But boy, does it deliver! Granted that mixing a sprinkle (1/32 of a teaspoon works for me) of this powder with Ruby is a task as most of us are used to squirting sunscreen out of a tube but believe me, the results are totally worth it and I'm a convert for life! I've been using Farizad's Veil every day since I got it in theboxwalla June box and I've only used about 1/8th of the product. This will definitely last me a while. Farizad's also blurs minor imperfections and mattifies my oily-combo skin. Sometimes when I'm left with a white cast (in case I use less of Ruby), I use a touch of tinted setting powder to blur out the white cast. Now, I go without foundation on most days. You can even mix Farizad's Veil with your body moisturiser and turn it into a body sunscreen. And since this is a physical sunscreen, you don't have to wait 15 mins before stepping out in the sun. Total win! Together, both Ruby and Farizad's Veil have been able to get rid of the dark patch of tan which I'm always left with after long sun exposure. I just need to use these consistently to ensure my forehead and overall skin stays its natural colour and doesn't get adversely affected by the sun.
This is a wonderful product and I am more than happy that I bought it. I would say that this is a skincare product that not only protects from the sun but also takes care of the skin as well in a sense that it heals and protects it. It smoothes the texture of it and it makes it look better than it is. It's gentle and soothing enough, it helps skin staying matte but not dry and I also think that it works very well as a primer underneath make up. I use it with a lightweight oil, I also tried it with Ruby oil which came as a sample with and I really liked it. And it will last me for a very long time so that's a bonus too. Very pleased so far I must say!
I love applying Farizad's Veil on my skin every morning. I had to experiment with the right amount of the powder and also the right oil to go with it. I was using Ferns and Moss but it turned out to be a little thick to be effectively spread out on my skin. So as per Ava's recommendation, I got Tangerine Skies which I love by the way. And I also got Green Leaves too (heavenly scent). So I mix these two oils (4 drops each) with a tiny amount of Farizad and mix it really well. It needs to be a very thin paste. More oily and less paste-y. Then only it will spread on your skin evenly. In the beginning, I was not sure how much powder to use which would not show like a thin whitewash on my dark skin, which normally every sunscreen makes me look. But over the time, I experimented with the amount of powder and the drops of oils and now I have the perfect recipe down to get the healthy, glowing look every morning. The first time I went on a bike ride in a scorching sun wearing Farizad, I was a little skeptical about its effectiveness with regard to suntan which I absolutely like to avoid at any day. So I carried my heavy-duty sunscreen with me just in case I needed reapplying. But Farizad held up really well for over three hours on a very hot afternoon (think low 90s). I never carried another sunscreen ever again.. And it does not bother my acne-prone skin. A huge bonus! Thank you Ava for a wonderful product!
